The 7th Biennial Meeting of Asian Society of Hepato Biliary and Pancreatic Surgery were conducted in Chennai, India between August 28 to 31st 2003. There were excellent scientific papers on the recent trends in Hepato Biliary and Pancreatic diseases. Over 500 papers were presented. The abstracts are reproduced in a CD format and is available at the congress website www.ashbps2003.com

Selected presentations have been printed in this volume. They have been arranged, organ wise for ready reference.

I am confident that this volume will find place in the library and be of immense reference value to access the state of the art in Hepato Biliary and Pancreatic diseases as of 2003.
