FOREWORD
Dear colleagues,
on behalf of the organizing committee it is my pleasure to welcome you in
Rostock-Warnemünde, to attend the 41st Congress of the European Society for
Surgical Research from May 17-20, 2006. The Conference venue Hotel Neptun in
the charming seaside resort Warnemünde offers a simply unique flair at the
shores of the Baltic Sea.
The most distinctive feature of our Society is to bring together young
researchers from different European countries involved in surgical research.
Thus, the scientific program encompasses a wide range of topics relating
both to clinical and experimental surgery and is designed to attract a broad
range of audience covering all surgical disciplines. Beside the pre-congress
‘hands-on’ workshops, free paper and posters sessions, the scientific
program is enriched by symposia and state-of-the-art key note lectures,
given by highly esteemed speakers from across Europe and the United States.
Apart from providing a discussion platform for the latest findings in
surgical research, we are convinced to stimulate an enjoyable atmosphere
that will evolve fresh ideas and collaborations as well as new friends.
With my kindest regards
Brigitte Vollmar
Congress president
