FOREWORD
The 16th Annual Congress of International Society for
Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE) jointed with 8th Annual Congress of the
Asian Pacific Association of Gynecologic Endoscopy and Minimally
Invasive Therapy (APAGE) and the 47th Annual congress of Japan Society
of Gynecological & Obstetrical Endoscopy (JSGOE, Congress President was
Prof. Fumitaka Saji) was held by the Sponsor of JSGOE, at Osaka
International Convention Center in cherry blossom season of early spring.
Moreover, It is really honor not only for me but also for Japan Society
of Gynecologic and Obstetric Endoscopy, because it is the first time
that ISGE come to JAPAN.
In recent years, the demand for
gynecological endoscopy, and particularly for endoscopic surgery, has
been increasing very rapidly. I believe that this meeting offers us a
unique opportunity to view and to learn about the latest research and
technological developments in gynecologic endoscopy. This year’s slogan,
"Safety, Simplicity, Standardization", was particularly pertinent
against the background of an ever-increasing importance attached to
endoscopy. With this slogan as its overriding theme, our meeting this
week incorporates a wide range of interesting presentations and
exhibitions. Actually this congress was consisted of 7 special talks, 10
symposiums consisted by 52 speakers, 63 free communications, 113 poster
presentations, 6 Luncheon Seminars, and more than 579 registrations from
many countries.
I appreciate to my old friend and
Honorary Secretary of Professor Victor Gomel, President of Dr. Harry
Rich, Vice President and Chairperson of Scientific Committee Dr. Peter
Maher, many invited speakers, Board Members and all of participants..
