Foreword

The 15th World Congress on the In Vitro Fertilization and 4th World Congress on In Vitro Maturation, brings together leading scientists and clinicians from various areas of infertility, ART, ICSI, IVM and stem cell research.

The inspiration to organise such conference came from the importance and the necessity of close and continuous interaction between the protagonists in these different fields. To further enhance this interaction and dialogue, the International Board of ISIVF 2009 took the initiative to drive forward this international Congress in Geneva.

Reproduction and stem cell biology are by any measure considered amongst the currently most dynamic research fields in life science. This International Congress spans several of these areas. Important topics are to review the current advances in the treatment of infertility couples, including controlled ovarian stimulation, natural cycles, endometriosis, low cost IVF and fertility preservation. This Congress covers the current status of stem cell research for potential therapy for the field of reproduction.

We hope you will enjoy the programme of the proceedings by its high medical interest and appreciate the environmental value of Geneva with the 15th World Congress on the In Vitro Fertilization and 4th World Congress on In Vitro Maturation.
