FOREWORD
The World Meeting on Minimally Invasive Surgery in
Gynecology held in Rome in June 2003 was organized to share the latest
techniques and scientific achievements in gynecologic surgery.
The Organizing Committee felt that it was time to go beyond endoscopy,
which has become an integral part of the different branches of
gynecologic surgery, in order to move into the broader framework of
minimally invasive surgery.
This book constitutes a compilation of chapters relevant to the most
recent surgical advances in this field. All of the following chapters
were presented as plenary lectures, symposium talks, selected papers or
free communications at the Rome Meeting.
We are grateful to the distinguished international group of Colleagues
who have contributed through their participation to the huge success of
the Meeting.
